ABOUT ISABEL LEON

A Little Bit About Me

For years I have always known that I have had a passion for anything to do with fashion in general. It all started when I would watch my grandma sit at her sewing machine and whip up all of these shirts and dresses. I started even making my dolls clothing with the scraps of fabric she had in her sewing room.

Once I realized this, I begged my mom to sign me up for the pre-college classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology. For 6 years I attended a variety of different courses from photography to sewing to fashion design to marketing. I wasn't getting any school credit for this - I was doing it because I highly enjoyed myself.

Throughout high school I came to the realization that I wanted to incorporate my business and finance interests with this passion for fashion. That is why I strive to work within corporate positions in fashion or beauty companies, where I can achieve a balance of both industries. I am also very open to any field within the fashion industry. 

​

Outside of school I enjoy other hobbies such as traveling, hiking, and exploring new cuisines all over New York City. I think living in New York City and being exposed to so much fashion and culture has helped me advance in my interests and skills with fashion design.
